Birth control pill Yasmin
All birth control pills contain hormones. But only Yasmin contains the hormone drospirenone to help prevent pregnancy. In clinical studies, women who took this hormone were less likely to experience water retention, weight gain, or mood swings before and during their menstrual cycles.
Side Effects: Common side effects include dizziness, headache, changes in weight or appetite, breast tenderness, water retention, changes in skin color, intolerance to contact lenses, changes in blood sugar, and changes in menstrual cycle. These side effects usually go away or become less noticeable after the first 3 months of use. Stop taking Yasmin and seek medical attention if you experience any of the following: allergic reaction, sharp chest pain, shortness of breath, pain in calf muscle, coughing of blood, sudden severe headache, dizziness, fainting, vomiting, changes in vision or speech, weakness, numbness in the arm or leg, yellowing of the skin or eyes, fever, fatigue, stomach pain, loss of appetite, dark-colored urine, new or changing breast lumps, light colored stools (possible liver problems), depression, or insomnia.
